Theme Group Youth
In the course of five years, the European Social Fund (ESF) will financially support approximately a thousand projects to help young people go from unemployment to employment or to improve their skills. The main idea behind this project, Theme Group Youth, is to present clever techniques and ideas that have been put to good use in these projects and to pass them on.
Who we are
Theme Group Youth is composed of a steering group with representatives from among several actors. It has an office located at the Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs with a coordinator, web editor, an investigator and an administrator. The Public Employment Service in Gothenburg has an assistant coordinator who is a member of the Theme Group Youth office. In addition, there is also an expert group and a high-level group.
What we do
Theme Group Youth will continuously provide data on youth group's size and conditions, checked for equal distribution with regard to gender, foreign or Swedish background, region of residence, or other relevant categories for the young people in these projects.
Theme Group Youth – a mission to make a difference
Our purpose and objective is to have a significant effect. Shortcomings in results and experience at the system level will be notified to the government, the Parliament and other relevant actors.
The objective is to influence ongoing and planned projects during the program period and add value to the field, which can lead to changes in young people's job prospects in the long term, and improve the quality of the efforts that young people encounter regardless it is about training or about making them more employable.
The primary target group of Theme Group Youth
Projects and decision-makers at all levels who mostly work with young people, as well as other groups of young people, i.e., those with disabilities and the young foreign-born, along with other age groups, in areas such as education, employment and social policy.
